Video Game Creation I
In the Video Game Creation course participants with no coding or game design experience can create their own video games. It's awesome! Using Clickteam's Multimedia Fusion 2 Developer for the PC Julia can facilitate the creation of original video games. This workshop is great for young folks! However, anyone with a 4th grade comprehension level and in interest in video games can participate and have tons of fun in this step by step hands on workshop and create there own game or collaborate in a group. This workshop introduces participants to programming logic, media literacy, story elements and the fundamentals of game design. Instead of expensive summer camps create your on Video Game Creation course relevant to your community, values, mission or goals. (DETAILS: 4 - 8hrs, 1-2 days, 1 computer per person, 10 people max)
Video Game Creation I (II, III)
In the Instructor workshop for Video Game Creation folks 16 and older can learn to facilitate game creation. These are skills that can be used to run your own game creation course for fun or for fundraising. First we explore the computer, software, gaming fundamentals and various teaching options. Next we go through the step by step curriculum together. Then instructors explore the frequently asked questions and challenges. Finally, you create your own game to the feel for what your students will be doing. Based on our time together the curriculum will be customized for your constituency and purposes and left for you to copy and use over and over again. The workshops for each level will follow this format. With each course we get deeper into the features of the software and game design. Video Game Creation II features a more advanced game designing. Building on the concepts of the first course students will explore creating multiple levels with more complex backgrounds and object features, customizing characters and character movement as well as more scoring options.

The Video Game Creation III course is designed to round out the Video Game Creator's practical and conceptual knowledge so that they can go on to create meaning and media rich games with a purpose. In Video Game Creation III students will warm up by designing a one level game based on the theme of the workshop that displays their specific game design skills. Then each student will design a game with specific intentions using the fundamentals of game desgn. Together we will test and provide feedback. Finally, we explore delivery options such as the web and CD-Rom and design packaging for the games.

I love translating who you are, what you hope to accomplish and your values into an exciting video game. Together we design the video game by pulling characters, environments, objects, actions, obstacles and objectives from an interactive workshop. You can use the detailed design document to promote and secure another game designer or you can contract me to create the game. NOTE: This workshop does not include the creation of a video game. It includes the creation of a detailed Design Document that you can give to a Game Creator to create.

Do you want to record your music? Music production with Julia is a spiritual and artistic journey. From concept, composing, instrumentation, writing, and recording to ordering duplication, create a master in 1-2 days. You will work with Julia in Pro Tools to put your own ideas and passion on CD. Julia will also familiarize you with audio recording hardware and softwre tools so that you can develop demos in between sessions.
